MOTE MARINE LABORATORY
Founded in 1955 by “Shark Lady” Dr. Eugenie Clark, Mote Marine Laboratory remains an independent nonprofit marine research organization and is based in Sarasota, Fla. Mote is dedicated to advancing sea science through the study of marine and estuarine ecosystems and sharing this knowledge through the public Mote Aquarium, which hosts nearly 300,000 visitors a year. Mote’s efforts also include an active Education Division that provides unique programs for all ages and www.mote.org, which reaches hundreds of thousands of users via the Internet each year.
